Rules and Regulations
- Contestants will be amateurs in their contest
categories. No professionals will be
accepted as contestants.
- No substitutions or changes may be made within 24
hours of the competition.
- All attire and props (including music, instruments,
etc.) shall be selected and
provided by the individual contestant. CD player, electronic piano,
microphone
and amp will be available. Karaoke assistance with music will be
available.
- A 4 minute performance limit will be strictly enforced. Timing
begins with the
first note, word or movement.
- Participants are required to perform the same piece in the final
competition as
performed in the second round of competition.
- All performances must be in good taste. Lyrics or subject matter
that Today Not
Tomorrow deems inappropriate to a family-style audience will
disqualify the
entry.
- Voice presentations must be a live performance by the artist and
may be
accapella or have musical accompaniment. Musical accompaniment may
be pre-recorded or live. Lip synching is prohibited. Producers will
transfer
cassette tapes to CD. An electronic piano will be available.
- Contestants must be in stage attire. Dressing rooms will not be
provided at
auditions. Contestants will be notified of the availability of
dressing rooms for the
preliminary competition rounds. Dressing rooms will be available for
the finals.
- Performers will be escorted on and off the stage.
- Proof of age will be required at preliminary audition.
- One tryout per contestant. However, contestants may be entered as
an individual
AND a group.
- Each contestant must supply a brief biography (approx. 125 words).
Photos and
biographies of finalists will be included in the final show's program.
Photos will
be taken at auditions.
JUDGING
- Judges will be local dignitaries, celebrities, or professionals
involved in the
entertainment industry.
- Performances will be evaluated by the following categories:
ability, appearance,
stage presence, and overall assessment.
- Performances will be scored using a scale of 1 to 10 in each
category, with 10
being highest score. Scores may include decimal values (e.g., 8.3).
- In the event of a tie, the first tie-breaker shall be the highest
number of points
given to the ability category. The second tiebreaker shall be the
highest number of
points awarded in the stage presence category. The third tiebreaker
shall be by a
secret vote of the judges based on overall performance, style and
impact.
- Today Not Tomorrow, Inc. shall be the sole authority in resolving
all disputes and
may disqualify any contestant at any level of the competition for
failure to comply
with the rules and regulations.
- Judging criteria will determine who moves through the competition
rounds and
the top three placements at the final round of competition.
- Movement through the competition rounds will be as follows:
- Top 6 contestants in each category in Round One will advance to Round
Two.
- Top 4 contestants in each category in Round Two will advance to the
Finals.
- The first place winners in each category will advance to judging for
Overall
Winner.
- Audience participation will have a bearing on the final competition
for the overall
winner for the title of 2008 Anna Mae Mitchell Senior Idol.
AWARDS
- Contestants advancing to the finals will be notified at the
conclusion of each
preliminary competition.
- Awards will be presented at the conclusion of the final
competition.
- Major prizes will be awarded for the Top three finalists in each
category.
- The Grand prize will be awarded to the Overall Winner of the first
place finalists in each category.
- All contestants will receive a prize.
PRIZES
- Prize awards will be given to all contestants!
- Grand Prize for Overall Winner!
- Major Prizes for top 3 winners in EACH category!
